Most of the sites at Saranac Lake State Park are boat access only. You can rent a motor boat or canoe from many nearby boat-houses.

I think this view of Saranac Lake is much more representative of it's serenity. Although the other end where we rented our boats is developed, we barely saw anyone else the entire time we were there - and we were there on a major holiday weekend with perfect weather.
This was a great hike to the top of the nearest, tallest peak - Ampersand Mtn (3,352ft.) You may have to scroll to the right to see this entire image.
